FALKEN TIRE LAUNCHES 'FALKEN FANATIC' INTERACTIVE SECTION WITHIN ITS NEW ENTHUSIAST WEBSITE
FONTANA, CA - Falken Tire, a leader in high performance tire technology, has expanded its increasingly popular interactive social website, www.wegetyougoing.com, by introducing a new section called FALKENFANATIC.COM designed to be highly interactive, allowing visitors to build their own profiles, share their experiences and upload race-related information and material. Participants will also have a chance to win products and other motorsports items. FALKEN FANATIC launches this Friday, July 9, 2010.
Introduced in April, www.wegetyougoing.com was developed by Falken's internal marketing department, and is intended to be a continual work-in-progress, providing visitors with updates to Team Falken, which currently has teams leading in the 2010 Formula Drift Championship and races a company-supported Porsche 911 RSR GT3 in ALMS events, as well as including "behind-the scenes" point-of-views from team drivers. In addition, Falken Spokesmodels will present their perspectives on racing and other activities through their video blogs (aka vlogs), along with many other opportunities in which consumers can participate, such as contests.
"The whole idea behind the FALKEN FANATIC page is to better connect with our customers and offer them a place where they can express their enthusiasm for motorsports, automobiles and Falken," stated Andrew Hoit, Director of Marketing for Falken Tire. "There are many people out there who can't get to the tracks where our teams race in Formula Drift or ALMS, so FALKEN FANATIC will become their way of reaching us by posting relevant content themselves as well as participating in games and contests, and we'll do the same through our photo blog and live streaming of Formula D events."
"One of the core principles behind the FALKEN FANATIC program is to focus on getting people involved," added Nick Fousekis, Senior Manager, Consumer Marketing Falken Tire. "We encourage enthusiasts to upload pictures of their vehicles, all featuring Falken tires, of course, and people can vote on the top five best. Or they can post other Falken-related content such as videos and artwork. The highest ranking entries will receive prizes, including a variety of electronic items, including iPads [first prize], Xbox360 [2nd prize] and GoPro cameras [3rd prize]."
As part of the interactivity goal, people can sign up to become a 'Fanatic,' and enter a sweepstakes to win a bi-weekly drawing for a $25 Starbucks Gift Card, in addition to participating in the contest listed above.
