FALKEN TIRE LAUNCHES SWEEPSTAKES FEATURING 2013 MUSTANG CUSTOMIZED BY DRIVERS PAWLAK & GITTIN, JR.
05 Apr, 2012
FONTANA, CA – As Falken Tire, a leader among high performance tire companies, continues the expansion of its motorsports activities for the 2012 racing season, the brand has announced a special Sweepstakes featuring a 2013 Ford Mustang, one of the most dominant chassis in recent Formula Drift history, customized by Team Falken Drivers Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.
The Sweepstakes was announced as the new season of Formula Drift begins at the Long Beach Grand Prix in Southern California. The winner will be awarded the grand prize at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV. Team Falken has won back-to-back Formula D Championships the past two years with Gittin, Jr., taking the honors in 2010, while Pawlak, finished second in the 2011 standings. Both drivers compete in Ford Mustangs and Gittin, Jr., brought Ford its first drifting championship with that title.
Sweepstakes entries can be made through Facebook with a “Like” on Falken Tire’s page at: http://fordmustangsweeps.pgtb.me/cKfW , and completing the entry form, or by visiting Falken Tire’s website. The sweeps will run throughout the 2012 Formula Drift season, culminating with the “Title Fight,” Round 7, on October 12-13.
“Falken Tire enjoys a great relationship with Ford Racing, having started with the manufacturer in 2007,” declared Jonathan Bradford, Falken’s Drift Supervisor. “Both Justin and Vaughn collaborated to make this a very special Mustang,” declared Jonathan Bradford, Falken’s Drift Supervisor. “It features HRE Wheels, Ford Racing Performance Parts, and naturally, Falken Tires.”
“This is a one-of-a-kind Mustang and both drivers took a great deal of time and interest in making sure it had the right combination of parts and grip so that it will provide the sweepstakes winner with a very nice ride,” he added.
“Ford’s involvement with Falken Tires in Formula Drift is critical in Ford’s commitment to show new audiences just how cool all our new products really are – from Fiesta and Focus to Mustang, Fusion, and F-150. We ‘re extremely proud that the Falken team chose Mustang, both as two of their competition cars and as the sweepstakes grand prize. I can think of no other team, or drivers, in this sport we would rather be associated with,” added Mickey Matus, Ford Racing’s Marketing Communication Manager.
Round 1 of the 2012 Formula Drift Championship will take place April 6-7 with competitors again running on the famed Long Beach Grand Prix course. The 2013 Mustang redesign will make its debut at Long Beach.
