Team Falken to explode @ Formula Drift’s

FONTANA, CA (July 9, 2010) - Momentum continues to build for Team Falken in the 2010 Formula Drift Championship, where the performance tire manufacturer has claimed all three wins, including back-to-back first and second place finishes and five podiums overall. Falken Driver Vaughn Gittin, Jr., sits on top of the series leader board in his Monster Energy/Falken Tire Ford Mustang followed closely by teammate and Discount Tire/Falken Tire pilot Daijiro Yoshihara. The team now heads to Round number 4, the "Throwdown" at Evergreen Speedway, July 9-10.

Shoed with Falken's new for 2010 Azenis RT-615K tire, each of the five Team Falken factory drivers and Falken supported privateer teams will jump in the powder keg that is Evergreen Speedway this weekend to go for 4-for-4 in the challenging Formula D competition. The track will definitely live up to its nickname, the "Breaking Point," as historically, it has claimed many victims.

"We're having a great season thus far, but cannot get too comfortable with our recent successes" stated Falken's Sr. Manager of Consumer Marketing, Nick Fousekis. "Due to the nature of the sport, drifting can be very unforgiving as a single small mistake can end your weekend prematurely. Although stressful for all the competing teams, this fact adds to the excitement and allure for the fans we're looking to please."

"This is a tough track" said Jonathon Bradford, Falken's Drift Team Supervisor. "However, we have both momentum and determination working for us, and together with our Falken Azenis RT-615K tires, we aim to continue our winning streak."

In other motorsport news, Falken is fresh from sharing an overall victory at the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, courtesy of Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, and will also compete this weekend in the ALMS race at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah, all successful elements of the company's comprehensive motorsports program.
