A little bit about Kevin Lam and his STI
The STI has always been one of Kevin’s favorite since the first time he heard the Subaru rumble. The sound just couldn’t stay out of his mind. At the time, booting around in a Mazda 3, those STI on the road were just dream cars. A few years pass and changing to a 08 Civic SI, that very dream car from before that Subaru STI came out with the GR chassis and a price drop! A trip to the dealership and the rest were history. Like anyone else with a white car these days, a stop at NextMod is a must. Excited and determined, a few must have parts (cobb, suspension, wheels, etc) were ordered. And there sitting behind the center seat at NextMod, owner Peter Pang dragged over a photo of the brand new Varis GR STI onto the large screen in the store. That is a must have. After calls to Japan, knowing less than a handful of the Varis bodykit was destined for North America, the waiting began These were parts that were made when orders came in, taking as long as 6 months. THEN, there was shipping and customs which took what seemed like a few months.
