Subiefest 2010 Remains The Largest All-Subaru Motorsports Event In North America

28 Oct, 2010

Los Angeles, California, October 12, 2010 -- Over 1200 Subaru enthusiasts from the West gathered on October 9th for the largest all-Subaru motorsport event and festival in North America: Subiefest 2010, presented by Subaru of America, Inc.

Returning for its 5th consecutive year, Subiefest took over Willow Springs (Rosamond, California) on Saturday October 9, 2010. "I think the general consensus is that this was the best Subiefest experienced offered to date," said Robert Champion, Event Director. "The racing was intense, Subaru of America's participation was epic, the car show was highly competitive, and the vendor midway was full of awesome deals and giveaways for everyone in attendance."

For the main event, professional and enthusiast tuners from around the country faced off in the All-Subaru Time Attack Challenge. A variety of teams battled for times around the 2.5 mile long track, including COBB Tuning, Snail Performance, Zenkai Motorsports, AQ Motorsports, GarageGT, Kaminari, and several others. But it was Thomas Smith from Crawford Performance who won the ultimate bragging rights and proved to have the fastest Subaru in the land, topping speeds of 168mph and tracking a best lap time of 1:22.115.

Jammari Whiteside was the official winner of Subiefest 2010 "Best Overall" car show competition. "It's been my dream ever since I built this car to someday get it into SEMA and now that dream has come true!" Whiteside says, "The excitement I felt when my name was called as the 1st place best overall Subaru left me speechless because all I could think about was all the hard work I have done to get this far and the long drive I made to get here has paid off to make my dream a reality." Whiteside will have his winning Subaru displayed on the Subaru stand at the 2010 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas, NV from Tuesday, November 2 through Friday, November 5, 2010, which includes an all-expenses paid trip to the show.

In addition to racing and showing, 20+ vendors hit the event in full force, showing enthusiasts that they're serious about connecting with the community and delivering quality products. Subiegirls.com raised over $500 with their dunk tank on behalf of Scoobies For Boobies, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and funding the the American Cancer Society's research to find a cure for breast cancer.
